Brand identity for Kubrick, a specialist data consultancy. The identity needed to appeal to a business audience as well as a young post-graduate audience.

The visual idea for the new identity is ‘get ahead’. Transference of momentum is the visual metaphor for this - three joined ellipses and a fourth, sitting ahead. The bright green dot represents every Kubrick consultant, client, alumnus and partner who can accelerate and amplify their capabilities to get ahead.

The 'energetic ellipses' are derived from the green dot in the Kubrick logo. They are deployed dynamically throughout the visual identity as a nod towards data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to create impact, symbolic of the positive impact Kubrick people have in the world.

A2 fold out exhibition publication to accompany artist David Murphy's solo show at TAP Galleries, Southend-on-Sea, Essex. 

One of David's sketches was scaled up and used to interact with overprinted bold typography, which created interesting textures and forms whilst allowing the work and the words to speak for themselves.

Brand Story: Human Innovation put together two souls.

Human: Humans are 
complex. Everyone of us, a wonderful, fascinating, contradictory individual.

Innovation: Innovation is 
rationality, method, persistence… applied to vision.

Tone: Authoritative, Approachable, Playful.

Task: Design a concept for a marquee/monogram that utilises an “H" and an “I" to express the brand story.

Behind our somewhat predictable appearance (we all have have heads, shoulders, knees and toes), human beings have trillions of unique DNA molecules that make us unpredictable, complex and fascinating. No two DNA molecules are the same and will constantly evolve as we procreate.

The Human Innovation DNA is an ever growing family of shapes inspired by the twisting, curving forms of a DNA molecule. 

The starting point for each molecule of Human Innovation DNA is a circle. Differing levels of pucker, bloat, and ridges are then applied, creating almost infinite possibilities. 

Wall graphics for the changing rooms in St. James's Market , an office and retail space on Regent Street. Aspirational sporting images from the 1950s interact with a bright block colour to reflect the bridge between historic, traditional St. James's and youthful, modern Soho.

Proposal design for Steer Davies Gleave's submission for the City of London's Cultural Hub ‘Look & Feel’ public realm strategy. The City of London is divided into 25 wards. The geographical shapes of these wards are used to create bold, overlapping patterns on the cover and divider pages. This references the proposal's ambition to connect the cultural points of interest, thus creating a 'hub'.

'GO' is a nonprofit organisation working with local employers and property managers to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, accessibility and mobility in Glendale, California.

The client was very keen to create an identity that resembled a traffic light. Taking this on board, I used two adjacent circles to create the letter forms of the 'G' and the 'O'. 

To contrast with the rounded forms of the 'GO' logo, triangles are used to interact with the circles to form versatile geometric patterns, suggestive of movement.

Concept and layout for the Orange County Complete Streets Design Handbook. The handbook is 372 pages and includes elements such as street design principles, guidelines, processes and standards for a range of multimodal transportation needs in a way that seeks to ease congestion, reduce pollution, promote increased mobility choice, and boost user safety.

A visual system whereby vectors are used to map piano manuscript music. The resulting manuscript maps allow us to establish the density of various styles of piano music and identify areas of high and low activity on the piano's keyboard. The length of each note is denoted by the stroke weight.

Music mapped: Sonatina 1 – Kabalevsky, Nocturne in B flat minor – Chopin, Rhapsody in Blue – Gershwin, Minuet in G Minor – Bach

Annual calendar for Steer Davies Gleave. The brief was that the design  must be loosely transport related and must incorporate a competition. The competition for this calendar was 'Guess the world record' whereby world records are illustrated using die cutting.

A series of A4 posters depicting 'number' idioms; High Five, One up on You, and Square One.

(Idiom: a group of words in a fixed order that have a particular meaning that is different from the meanings of each word on its own.)

Commissioned by Northamptonshire County Council, the 'Arc' logo was developed to encompass three fundamentals; a low carbon Northamptonshire, transformed connectivity and a stronger, greener economy.

Brand consistency with Northamptonshire Council was achieved by combining their existing colour palette with bright, complimentary colours.
